Wheat Ridge Police Identify Boy Hit by a Vehicle on Sunday

Wheat Ridge, CO -- Wheat Ridge Police have finally identified a boy who was struck by a vehicle on Sunday night and left critically injured. The crash happened around 9:00 p.m. at 11001 W. I-70 Frontage Road near a Medved Chevrolet dealership.

According to police, the boy was walking around the area and was struck by a vehicle. Emergency responders rushed him to a nearby hospital but were unable to identify him. The boy is estimated to be between the ages of 11 and 13 and he was not with anyone at the time of the crash. Wheat Ridge Police were able to identify the boy Monday night and said that his family did not live in the metro area.

The accident is still under investigation, and it is unclear why the boy was wandering around alone.
