Two Minors Dead After Pedestrian Crash on Colorado 16

Fountain, CO -- Two minors died, and another received treatment for injuries after a driver hit three pedestrians in a crosswalk on Saturday night.

The three boys - aged 15, 15, and 9 - were crossing the street at the intersection of Colorado 16 and Fountain Mesa Road.

The light for oncoming traffic was green, and an oncoming vehicle struck the pedestrians.

When Fountain police arrived at the intersection, they declared one 15-year-old boy dead at the scene.

The authorities transported the other two boys to an area hospital where the 9-year-old boy later died from his injuries. The other 15-year-old was treated for minor injuries.

The driver that hit the boys remained at the scene of the crash. At this time, the Fountain police said the driver did not commit any traffic violations to cause the crash.

The investigation into the crash is still open. The authorities have not released the identities of any involved individuals.
