Truck Drives off I-70 in Edwards, Injures Two

Edwards, CO -- A semi-truck drove off an overpass on westbound I-70 on Thursday morning and crashed down onto Winslow Road. Two men were injured in the crash.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, the truck’s 22-year-old driver and a 23-year-old passenger both sustained severe injuries in the crash. First responders had to extract the driver from behind the wheel. One man was transported to Denver Health hospital; the other was taken to Vail Health.

The crash occurred just after 9:00 AM on Thursday. Until the early afternoon, police closed Winslow Road to empty the truck’s cargo and clean up the crash scene. The truck was transporting furniture; the truck’s damage, sustained in the crash, required it to be put on a flatbed truck to be hauled from the scene.

Authorities have not provided details about the cause of the crash or updates on the injured individuals’ conditions.
