Crash on I-25 Leaves Commercial Truck Driver, Passenger Seriously Injured

El Paso County, CO -- Police believe a car caused a collision with two commercial trucks after the car attempted to pass one of the trucks illegally.

The crash occurred on northbound I-25 south of Fountain on Tuesday around 6:00 AM. Authorities report that the driver and passenger of one of the trucks, a milk truck, sustained serious injuries in the crash. Updates of their conditions have not been provided.

The other truck’s driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution; state troopers say they expect that driver to fully recover.

The authorities say that  both trucks rolled off the road during the collision. The car’s driver, who is suspected of causing the accident when illegally passing one of the trucks on the left shoulder, is facing multiple charges.
