Highway 285 Closed for Hours After Tanker Truck Rollover

Morrison, CO -- A truck driver died on Highway 285 on Thursday when the northbound truck rolled off the road and the cab disconnected from the tank.

The Colorado State Patrol closed the highway for several hours after the crash, which occurred around 2:00 PM. The Colorado Department of Transportation reported that the crash happened between Highway 8 and Parmalee Gulch Road.

Although the cause of the crash is under investigation, authorities said that it fell down a sharp incline after the cab disconnected from the tanker. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

Highway 285 partially reopened just after 9:00 PM on Thursday.
