Two Injured in Early Morning Crash on Saturday in Hartsel, CO

Hartsel, CO -- A two-car crash occurred on Highway 24 early Saturday morning and left two people badly injured.

A Chrysler 300 was driving eastbound on the highway around 3:45 AM. It swerved into oncoming traffic, and the driver of a Cadillac DeVille swerved to avoid a collision. However, the cars crashed.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, both the driver - a woman from Cripple Creek - and the only passenger in the Cadillac sustained severe injuries.

They were airlifted to a hospital, but authorities said they expect both individuals to live. The Chrysler’s driver sustained minor injuries and received treatment at the crash scene.

The CSP is investigating the collision and suspects that alcohol might have been a causing factor.
