Woodland Park, CO -- A Subaru collided with a semi-truck on Highway 24 near Woodland Park on Tuesday morning, leaving the Subaru’s 64-year-old driver dead.
The Colorado State Patrol responded to and investigated the crash. The CSP report states that the Subaru was traveling east on Highway 24 between Woodland Park and Divide around 8:15 a.m.
A semi-truck, driven by a 32-year-old man, was moving west on the same undivided highway. The Subaru drifted into the highway’s westbound lane, and the truck driver tried unsuccessfully to avoid a collision. The semi’s trailer collided with the Subaru.
The Subaru’s driver died at the scene, and the semi-truck driver was uninjured in the collision. The crash involved no other individuals.
The CSP report states that a medical episode caused the crash. Authorities have not released the identities of the men involved.
