Lakewood, CO -- A man died after walking into the westbound lanes of 6th Avenue on Wednesday night.
The man, who was driving in the eastbound lanes of the freeway, drove his pickup truck into the center median around 10:00 PM.
The collision occurred between Wadsworth Boulevard and Sheridan Boulevard. Police believe this incident led to the man exiting his vehicle and walking into the path of westbound vehicles. The man was hit by one of these cars.
The Lakewood Police Department responded to the crash scene. The man was alive when the police arrived but was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are investigating the crash and the man’s death; they have not indicated if alcohol was a factor in the incident. Police also have not released the identity of the deceased man.
