1 Dead, 4 Injured After Van Runs a Stop Sign in Weld County

Weld County, CO -- One man died and four other men were injured after a van collided with a pickup truck in Weld County just east of Keenesburg Saturday night. The accident occurred at 6:10 p.m. at the intersection of Weld County Roads 73 and 16.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, an unidentified 42-year-old man was heading south on County Road 73 in his pickup truck when a van with four male occupants ran a stop sign and hit him while driving west on County Road 16. 

One passenger in the van, whose name and age have not been released, died at the scene of the accident. The 19-year-old driver of the van and a 17-year-old passenger were taken to the hospital with moderate to serious injuries. Both the driver of the pickup truck and a 25-year-old passenger in the van received minor injuries and did not go to the hospital.

The Colorado State Patrol is still investigating the crash and no charges have been reported at this time.
