Colorado Springs, CO -- Many lanes on the northbound side of I-25 closed early Sunday morning due to a two-vehicle crash. According to Colorado Springs police, the driver of a Toyota Tundra cut off a small SUV.
The driver of the SUV rear-ended the Toyota. The SUV suffered front-end damage and the Toyota caught on fire.
EMTs transported six people to hospitals with severe injuries and burns. None of the injuries are life-threatening.
According to the Fire Department, the Toyota Tundra was carrying canisters of CO2 at the time of the accident, which leaked in the heat of the fire. Officials did not release what happened after the canisters caught fire.
The driver of the Toyota received charges of careless driving, driving with a restricted license, and driving without insurance.
Lanes remained closed for about an hour while crews cleaned up the scene. All lanes reopened around 11:15 a.m.
