Motorcyclist Killed in 5 Car Crash

Aurora, CO — A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday, September 25th, 2019 when a vehicle struck them from the side and then three other cars.

The accident happened at the intersection of S. Havana Street and E. Iliff Ave. around noon.

The lights at the intersection were not functioning, according to police, because of a power outage.

As the man driving the motorcycle was going through the intersection a passenger vehicle struck him and then three other cars according to the release from the Aurora Police Department.

The motorcyclist, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene, he has yet to be identified. One other driver that was struck was sent to the hospital with minor injuries.

The busy intersection was closed for several hours while investigative crews worked the scene. Right now, the police do not have a cause for the accident.

Currently, they are waiting for toxicology reports to come back before announcing a final charge. The incident will remain under investigation until then.

This is the 21st fatality in Aurora this year. Police would like to remind the public that when there is an outage at a stoplight it should be treated as a four-way stop.
