One Person Killed, Four Injured in Lakewood Crash Early Sunday Morning
The intersection of West Alameda Avenue and South Kipling Street in Lakewood was closed for over 10 hours Sunday following a two-car fatal crash.
According to police, at about 2 a.m. Sunday a vehicle driving eastbound on West Alameda Avenue ran a red light at South Kipling Street and t-boned a vehicle that was driving southbound on South Kipling.
The passenger in the vehicle traveling southbound was killed, said Lakewood police. The driver of the southbound vehicle and three occupants of the vehicle that ran the red light were transported to area hospitals with unknown injuries.
The intersection remained closed for investigation until after noon on Sunday.
No charges have yet been filed in the crash, which is still under investigation. Police are determining whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision.
