Pedestrian Suffered Fatal Injuries After Being Struck by Oncoming Vehicle
Aurora, CO -- A 75-year-old woman died after being hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross E. Colfax Avenue Sunday night.
The Aurora Police Department responded to the crash at 5:22 PM. The man driving the vehicle, an SUV, remained at the scene. Police said the woman was suffering from multiple injuries when they arrived, and she was transported to a nearby hospital.
The police closed the westbound lanes of E. Colfax Avenue near Clinton Street to investigate the crash. Upon inspecting the scene, police determined that the woman was not using a crosswalk to cross the street. The authorities also believe that drugs, alcohol, and speed were not factors in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
The woman died from her injuries at the hospital. The Adam’s County Coroner’s Office will release her identity once they notify her family.
