Collision on Diagonal Highway Leaves Two Dead, Teenager Injured

Boulder, CO -- A collision on Diagonal Highway on Saturday afternoon killed two Longmont residents and injured a teenager from Firestone.

The Colorado State Patrol said that the crash occurred around 4:30 PM and involved a Ford pickup truck and a BMW 550. The CSP reported that the Ford failed to stop at a stop sign while turning left off of Oxford Road onto Diagonal Highway.

The BMW was traveling west on Diagonal Highway when the Ford pulled in front of it. The BMW collided with the pickup truck.

Both individuals in the Ford, a 58-year-old man and a 58-year-old-woman, died in the crash. The BMW’s 18-year-old driver sustained minor injuries, according to the CSP.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and the CSP closed Diagonal Highway between Oxford Road and Niwot Road from the time of the crash until 9:00 PM on Saturday.
