Semi-Truck Crash Leaves One Woman Dead in Fort Collins

Fort Collins, CO -- A two-vehicle crash left one woman dead and another individual injured on Tuesday afternoon.

Around 4:30 PM, the Fort Collins Police Services received reports of a collision between a car and a semi-truck.

When officers arrived at the northeast Frontage Road near Mulberry Street, they found a damaged 2002 Jeep Cherokee and a Peterbilt semi-truck.

The authorities transported the Jeep’s driver to a local hospital, as they sustained serious injuries in the crash. The Jeep’s front seat passenger, a woman, died in the crash.

The semi-truck driver, who did not sustain injuries in the crash, collided with the Jeep when the car attempted to turn off Mulberry Street and into the Frontage Road’s southbound lanes.

Authorities have shared that the truck was traveling east on Mulberry Street, and the Jeep was moving west.

The Fort Collins Police Services Collision Reconstruction and Scene Handling Team continue to investigate the crash. At this time, they have not shared which vehicle had the right of way or the involved individuals’ identities, including the deceased woman. Any witnesses who have not already talked to police should contact Officer Koski at (970) 416-2229.
