Weld County, CO -- A Thursday morning five-vehicle crash left two people seriously injured.
The crash, which occured on Highway 34 just before 8:00 AM, yielded such damage that the two injured individuals had to be extracted from their vehicles by emergency responders.
Both individuals were transported to a hospital by helicopter; the authorities have not provided an update on their conditions.
Police expect to charge one driver with crossing the middle line of the highway; they have not indicated which driver.
Police have released limited details about the crash. One vehicle traveled 20 feet off the highway and rolled over. Two other vehicles collided head on.
The crash caused Highway 34 to close for about 3 hours.
