Pedestrian Killed in Northeast Colorado Springs Collision

Colorado Springs, CO -- Police are investigating a crash that killed a single pedestrian Monday evening after being struck by a vehicle in northeast Colorado Springs.

Officers responded to a fatal auto vs. pedestrian crash that happened at about 5:15 p.m. near the intersection of Austin Bluffs Parkway and Brenner Place. Authorities said the pedestrian was struck by a passing van as it tried to cross Austin Bluffs.

East Austin Bluffs was closed for several hours while police investigated the incident. The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with police.

The death marks the second pedestrian death in less than a week in Colorado Springs.
