Fort Lupton, CO -- A crash in Fort Lupton left one person dead Monday afternoon. The accident happened around 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of US 85 and Weld County Road 8.
Police say that an unidentified pickup truck driver was driving south on US 85 and attempted to make a left-hand turn.
The pickup truck entered the path of a gravel semi-truck heading north and was hit. The driver of the pickup truck died at the scene of the accident, and it is unclear if the driver of the semi-truck was injured.
Police are still investigating the crash. All northbound lanes of US 85 were closed for three hours on Monday while crews worked the site of the accident. If you have any information about the crash, please contact the Fort Lupton Police Department at 720-652-4222.
