Parker, CO - On July 4th a bicyclist was hit by an unknown driver. Parker police are looking to the public to help identify the suspect.
The bicyclist was Edward "Chuck" Vogel, 64. He passed away when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver at about 6:30 a.m.
The incident was at Pine Drive just south of Lincoln Avenue in Parker. The Douglas County Coroner's Office identified Vogel.
Vogel's family described him as a loving father, husband and involved within the community. He was also expecting to be a grandfather.
A vehicle was found abandoned in front of the Parker Core Knowledge Charter School. Police believe this was the hit-and-run vehicle.
After the crash police believe the driver went south on Pine Drive then west on Main Street. Police also believe he went through the Victorian Village town homes. They are hoping residents in the area can help with the ongoing search.
