Man Seriously Injured At Work

There are many jobs that require a small amount of risk to get the task at hand complete. But how unfortunate it is to hear about someone who actually dies at work. The Denver Post reported that a man had fallen down into a hole at a construction site in downtown Denver. The man was climbing out of a trench when he lost his grip on a ladder and fell into a 40 foot hole. His fellow employees notified the company and paramedics rushed to the scene. The man was strapped to a spine board and was lifted out of the hole by an on site crane. He was then rushed to the hospital. The company is expected to continue work as usual. No word yet has been reported whether the accident occurred due to unsafe work conditions.

Workers’ Compensation is Essential For Putting Your Life Back Together!

A work injury is nothing to be ashamed about and should actually be talked about. There are many people who avoid reporting work injuries because there is lot of paperwork involved. However, it is important that if someone has suffered a serious injury at work that they realize they are not alone. According to the Health and Safety Executive, the rate of worker deaths is fairly low, but still high enough to cause concern. There are 0.6 deaths per 100 000 workers today in the USA. This means that nearly two hundred people loose their lives at work every year. There were exactly 173 worker deaths in 2011. In 2012 the average of workers who died at work was 12% lower than the average for the past five years. This is a vast improvement and can be reflective of both safer work environments and improved work place policies. Although work place injuries are common it is important to understand when you need an attorney to protect your rights and get you the compensation you deserve.
